Bushtracks Safari Samantha at Mashatu BotswanaBushtracks’ intrepid traveler and expert safari planner, Samantha Barbitta, is thankful for the wonderful African wildlife viewing opportunities she’s having on safari in Botswana and South Africa's Kruger Southern this week.

Back at the Bushtracks office in Healdsburg, California, we are giving thanks for her photographic skills and willingness to share her African safari with us. If you've ever wondered about what game you might see in an African summer safari, or if you're looking to spice up your Thanksgiving holiday with beautiful safari photos from Africa, we think you'll be thankful, too, for Sam's African wildlife photography. Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at Bushtracks!

Friday, November 21, Mashatu Game Reserve, Botswana

Just checked in at Mashatu Main Camp, it's really nice. Tent camp was also very comfy with nice new tents. Horse riding this morning was fantastic! I'm off to the photographic hide this afternoon, so hopefully the elephants will be there too.  It's quite hot, as expected in Africa's summer, but I'll have air-con tonight to sleep comfortably in my huge room.

Sunday, November 23, Mashatu Game Reserve, Botswana

There was just a massive thunderstorm, and we got soaked on the drive back after sundowners in the middle of a huge buffalo herd, and that was just about as loud as the thunder! Great game viewing today with a cheetah chase and kill, rhino babies, elephants in the river and in a mud hole, and a magnificent leopard.

Monday, November 24, MalaMala, Kruger Southern, South Africa

Game viewing at MalaMala Main Camp was so productive with our vehicle sighting Africa's Big Five on two of the three days I was there.  Seeing the cheetah chase down and then feed on a baby impala was exciting and makes me feel very lucky, though the rangers there are quite good at finding interesting things and positioning themselves well without interfering.
